Suction hoses for dust extractors and vacuums
A suction hose decides how much of the dust a machine actually captures. Diameter sets the trade-off: a 27 mm vacuum cleaner hose stays light and flexible behind a sander or a small router, 32 mm and 35 mm move chips and heavier debris from saws and planers without clogging, and wider bores suit floor cleaning and construction vacuums. Length counts just as much, because every extra metre costs airflow at the tool.
Antistatic versions carry a conductive strand that drains the charge fine dust builds up as it travels through the wall. That stops the small shocks and the dust cling that plague ordinary hoses in dry conditions, and it matters most on sanding and routing work. A smooth outer wall keeps the hose from snagging on edges, thresholds and door frames while it trails behind you.
Check the cuffs before ordering, since machine-side and vacuum-side ends differ per manufacturer. Filtration is the other half of the system, so pair the hose with the right dust bag and filter.
